This
first newsletter of the year comes with a great
set of laws from my ancestors (the Vikings).
But first
I would like to share a great story...
A friend
of mine (who is an amazing person) bought two
truckloads of plastic combs from China to sell at
his large warehouse store. He had problems
selling the cheap combs for several weeks, even
though they were placed strategically close to
the payment register (so they couldn't be
missed). The price was only $0.25 per comb -- a
radically low price in his area. Still... no
sales.
Then he
decided to test something new. He put a sign up
with the text: "3 Combs for $1". He
sold everything in a matter of days!
Not only
did he sell 3 times as many combs to every
customer who bought them, but he also made more
money on each comb ($0.33 instead of $0.25).
Ingeniously,
yet so simple!
