Dear Reader,It's amazing how quick one
adapts to changes and new things.
For some
time, I have been looking on getting a
Blackberry.
I have
been using a Palm for phone and managing
information for over 10 years now. It has been
great to use and I have been very happy with it.
But the company seemed to stall the development
of new products and I didn't see a future. At
least when it comes to what I am looking for.
Blackberry
seemed like the perfect business tool for me.
There was
only one problem... It uses Microsoft Outlook.
So
converting from Palm to Blackberry, ALSO demanded
me to abandon my most used (and beloved) computer
software -- the Palm Desktop (calendar, contacts,
memos, etc) and Eudora (emails) -- in order to
use Outlook for everything.
In other
words, if I change phone, I also need to change
all my information and the way I work. My daily
routines.
That was
a big step for me. Changing habits of 10 years.
After
some thinking, I decided to make the change. I
bought a Blackberry and started to transfer
everything from my Eudora (about 200,000 emails)
and Palm Desktop (over 10 years of appointments
and plans) into Outlook.
It took a
few days of organizing the data and learning the
new system, and while doing so I started to doubt
and feel that I made a big mistake. I didn't like
it at all!
But after
everything came to place and all was set, I've
had a few days of working with it, and I must say
that now I love it. It all works as before, and
even better!
And best
of all, I have a fantastic online system in my
Blackberry phone so I can work anywhere and
anytime.
So I made
the right decision! And I know it has a future.
Have a
wonderful day.
All the
best,
